NYC's most expensive Hotel Suite

The Ty Warner Penthouse in the Four Seasons Hotel is a gorgious place to spend the night. But it will cost you $34,000.  It is also the highest hotel room in the city, giving breathtaking views from 4,300 marble-covered square feet of luxury.

The "Ty Warner Suite" on the 52nd floor of the Four Seasons hotel dazzles with stylish details like waterfalls on its walls, a broken glass chandelier and a crystal sink.

The suite is usually booked just once a month. But that's how the hotel says it likes it. "It's not the type of suite we're looking to rent with tremendous frequency because it's so perishable," Lefkowitz said. "The materials, fabrics, everything are just so fine."

Vegas’s $7 billion CityCentre is US’s most expensive project

Las Vegas is constantly re-inventing itself and always seems "over the top" but never before, observers say, has there been this type of frantic building to keep pace with demand.

MGM calls its CityCenter project the "most expensive privately financed project in American history."

"This is the most outrageous, over-the-top expansion ever," said long-time developer Steve Wynn. The $7 billion price is far more than the previous record, set when Mr. Wynn and his financial backers spent $2.7 billion building the 2,700-room Wynn, which opened in 2005.

The mini-city bordering the Las Vegas Strip will feature six towering buildings that reach as high as 61 stories. Covering 67 acres, it will include a 4,000-room hotel, a sprawling convention center, a half million square feet of retail space and 2,700 condominium units.

For Singapore Airlines, the $360 million and four years it invested in creating its new Sleeper Seat is simply the cost of doing business its way.

"We firmly believe in bringing back the romance of travel," said Bey Soo Khiang, Singapore Airlines' senior executive vice president for operations and service. The carrier is considered one of the industry's most influential trendsetters.

The Sleeper Seat is encased in mahogany and is the widest in the world at 35 inches, equivalent to two economy seats.

It is equipped with a 23-inch liquid crystal display television screen, laptop power source, a vanity table and comforters and pillows designed by Givenchy of France.
